Schweet! Being a Christian Forum Junkie, I'd love to try to spark some interest among the CF family (in due time) for this awesome tool. Great way to get to know one another beyond the church building and get some iron sharpening iron discussions going. I'm especially stoked about this particular thread title. I'm all about tearing off the masks and 'keeping it real' within the church. Love, love, love identifying the elephants in the auditorium and sacrificing the sacred cows...
...guess that explains my journey so far. :p
Much love,

Chris, welcome to the forum. As Tami said we really dont get a lot of traffic on the forum. But I would love to see more interest in it and get this place really hopping with activity. If you have the desire to help motivate and spark interest in the forum, we are more than happy for you to help. We could make you a moderator of the forum so you can help add new topics and categories.
Tami, I am going to start thinking up a little skit to do that will help create awareness of this forum and the other tools on the site. Any ideas that you have would be of great help, you too Chris. And once I have something drawn up we can get other involved and then do it one Sunday morning. How does that sound? |

(Shameless plug section)
In 2008 I had the honor and privilege of hosting a live call-in radio show on KKHT 100.7 FM here in Houston. In conjunction with the show, I had a blog that addressed the topics I was led to introduce on the radio show (and some that I didn't have an opportunity to do for one reason or another).
I post this, not as a braggadocious, "look what I can do", attention whore move but as a way to introduce some possible topics for discussion we could bring up on the forum, if anyone is interested. A small disclamer here: some of these topics are potentially controversial.
Feel free to use any of these topics if you wish. If not, I'll be under my bed in the fetal position weeping over the slight.
Sorry, my sense of humor is coming back, God help us all...
Anyway, here's the blog. Do with it what you will.

Joke of the day:
With our 25th anniversary fast approaching, my wife began driving me crazy with her not-too-subtle gift hint.
I'd find sticky notes all over the place with the following suggestion: "I'd like something shiny that goes from zero to 200 in less than five seconds." Message received; I bought her a bathroom scale. The doctors are confident I'll walk again but I'll always have the limp.
Blessings

If a man posts in a thread deep in the recesses of cyberspace and there's no one around to hear him, does he, in fact, make a sound?
Oh, sweet mysteries of life... |

Well that depends on how load he types Chris...:)
Then the next question would logically be: If a man surfs the internet, how long before his computer doesn't work due to water damage? |

Excellent question, BC. To further this excursion into the unknown, I wonder how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck had access to an unsecure WIFI port for his Intel i7 740QM-powered laptop complete with 6GB dual-channel DDR3 SDRAM, 500GB SATA II hard drive and a 1024 MB ATI HD5850 mobility Raedeon video card? I'm thinking the bare minimum of wood that could be chucked in this scenario would be "a lot". The mind boggles at such deep theological questions. Keepin it real. Real nerdy... |

I would say none on the wood chucking...its a nice laptop, but have you ever tried to chuck wood with a computer? Its much easier to beat an unruly laptop with a chuck of wood than it is to actually chuck it with said laptop. He COULD, however, watch a hilarious surfing squirrel while composing an Excel spreadsheet without any lag...:) |

Hmmm...you have a point. The surfing squirrel is difficult to refute. I concede the debate to you, sir. |

Good to officially meet you and your bride yesterday, Mr. C. You look nothing like your avatar pic. I was expecting more pink and grey hues. |
